Thank you collectively for your welcome and rapid response to our urgent problem (loss of Cyclotron op. system, due to hard-disk crash), particularly since you were obliged to deliver a solution in the final week before Christmas.

All the best for 2006. Please pass on my particular thanks to Thibaut, whose email I do not have. His capacity to work on the problem through the night, having just disembarked from a flight half way around the world, was much appreciated. Though the problem had been substantially solved (due to the arranging of the ftp download from IBA, beforehand), it was useful to know he was here as expert backup in the event of a problem - the political pressure on RAPID "from above" in our management "food-chain" for us to deliver FDG to our PET camera on Christmas Eve was intense.”

“The Cyclotron is in full operation since 2003, without a single failure. The contacts with both the commercial and technical staff of IBA was and remains enjoyable.

The IBA crew has installed it in close cooperation with the University technicians. The collaboration up to today has been fruitful and mutually greatly stimulating. During the preparation of the installation IBA has provided useful advices, also to the constructor of the building and their subcontractors. Nowadays the facility acts as a showcase with its superb infrastructure and new cyclotron.

We are enjoying the benefits of a service contract with a helpdesk and we were instrumental to establish an on-line connection of the cyclotron computer with the IBA laboratories for direct assistance when needed. Fortunately, up to now, only the helpdesk has been called once. The service is excellent and we always enjoy useful advices for our technicians. Also we keep informed about software and hardware updates and we have acquired a substantial amount of vital spare parts.

We have experienced a growing use of isotope production for nuclear medicine and are stimulating the exploitation for scientific research of this powerful workhorse.”
