Deep penetration of high-density products |
X-rays produced with high energy electrons have a similar penetration to gamma rays. They are therefore very well suited to deep penetration of high density products.
These X-rays (Bremsstrahlung) are produced by intercepting a high-energy, high-power electron beam with a water-cooled tantalum target.
Excellent dose uniformity, even for large and high-density products |
because of X-ray’s superior penetration properties, the dose uniformity is improved. Large industrial pallet loads and a bulk density up to 0.8 g/cc can therefore be irradiated without cold spots.
Fast processing of multiple products |
Since the treatment can be ran in small to medium size batches, there is no need to fill the irradiation area with a huge number of product carriers or to process products in large quantities. There are no delays for sorting products by dose or dwell time requirements, or for inserting blank pallets between batches.
