IBA SELLS 11 PROTON THERAPY SYSTEMS IN LAST 12 MONTHS

With the sale of 11 proton therapy systems over the past 12 months, IBA has broken all previous sales achievements and strengthened its position as the most experienced and fastest proton therapy provider in the market. The 11 PT systems sold in this period are spread over customer sites in the US, Europe and Asia:
Baptist Health South Florida is establishing a proton therapy system at the Miami Cancer Institute in Miami, Florida, US, currently under construction. IBA will equip the Miami Cancer Institute with its Proteus®PLUS three-gantry room configuration including next generation Pencil Beam Scanning capability.
Beaumont Health System started the construction of a brand new cancer center in Royal Oak, Michigan, US, which will include the Proteus®ONE compact single-room proton therapy system. The center is expected to treat its first patient in 2017.
The Zhuozhou Jian Kang Qiao Investment Company Ltd. will establish a proton therapy center in Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province, China. The center will be the first proton therapy center in North China, situated 30 minutes from Beijing and it is expected to treat up to 2,000 patients per year. IBA will equip the new center with its Proteus®PLUS multi-room system including five treatment rooms, four isocentric-gantry treatment rooms and a fixed-beam treatment room.
Guangdong Hengju Medical Technologies Co. Limited will install the first proton therapy system in Guangzhou, South China. IBA will provide the two rooms of the new center with equipment from its Proteus®PLUS system, which will also be equipped with IBA’s next generation Pencil Beam Scanning capability. The facility is set to open in the summer of 2017.
CYCLHAD (a CYCLotron for HADron Therapy) in Caen, France, will install the Proteus®ONE single-room proton therapy system. The delivery of the equipment is expected to take place in 2017.
The University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) is establishing the first proton therapy center in The Netherlands, in Groningen. It will be equipped with a Proteus®PLUS two-gantry room configuration, including the next generation Pencil Beam Scanning and Cone Beam CT (CBCT) capabilities.
Proton Partners International (PPI), a private limited company registered in Wales, signed with IBA to install three Proteus®ONE systems, including Pencil Beam Scanning (PBS) and Cone Beam CT (CBCT) capabilities, in private clinics: one in Newport (Wales), one in Newcastle (England) and a third location to be announced. First patient treatment is expected in 2017.
