IBA starts several installations in parallel in Germany, Poland And Sweden
Since January 2013, IBA has started installing proton systems concurrently at three Proton Therapy centers in Europe. This unrivalled production and installation capability of IBA has developed over many years and many proton facility projects.
Of the three European installations, the project at Universitätsklinikum Carl Gustav Carus/Oncoray in Dresden, Germany was the first to begin. IBA’s Proton Therapy equipment was delivered in February. All mechanical parts have now been installed. The set up of the electrical components is entering its final phase.
Installations in Skandionkliniken in Uppsala, Sweden and Instytut Fizyki Jądrowej PAN in Krakow, Poland also have commenced and are progressing well. Proton equipment was delivered as planned beginning of April and in early May.
It is interesting to note that the Krakow project includes the latest version of IBA’s 360-degree treatment gantry design. The mechanical assembly has been successfully managed. This new version is easier to transport and install. These improvements are the result of IBA’s efforts to continually advance our proton systems. IBA makes every effort to encompass the latest technology in our systems to facilitate an access to Proton Therapy and lower project risks.
